Trip Overview
Ghorepani Poonhill, easily known as one of the most popular destination of Nepal in the contemporary tourism activities, is a short and easy trek in the famous Annapurna region. Located at 3,193 meters of altitude from the sea level you can take in the views of many phenomenal snowcapped mountains such as Dhaulagiri I (8,167m), Nilgiri, and Tukuche, and the Annapurna range, which includes Hiunchuli (6,441m), Annapurna I (8,091m) and Annapurna South (7,219m). Even though the trek goes up to the remote region, due to the traffic of travelers, you can find many facilities along the route. Teahouses and hotels can also be easily found along the way, where you can get familiar with the local foods, culture, and your welcoming hosts. You also get to experience the unique homestay experience in Ghandruk, where you live in local’s homes, conversing with them, eating their own handpicked and hand cooked foods. This surely gives travelers an authentic experience of Nepalese remote lifestyle.The trek commences with a half day drive to Pokhara, “the heart of Nepalese tourism”. The city widely popular for its nightlife, lakeside walks, boating, mountain views, bungee jumping, paragliding and many more adventurous activities is the best place in Nepal to spend your free days. We officially begin the trek on your third day of arrival with a short drive to Ulleri and hike to Banthanti. We then move onwards to famous Magar and Gurung settlements of Ghorepani, the Poonhill viewpoint, Tadapani, Ghandruk and Siwai before finally coming back to Pokhara. The major highlights of these phenomenal trek is not only the mountain views, but the exploration, jungle walks, Gurung and Magar settlements and nevertheless Nepal’s national flower “Rhododendron”.
Full Itinerary
upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, a representative from Blissful Nepal will receive and escort you to the hotel. Later in the evening, there will be a welcome meeting where you will be briefed regarding the trek and the plan for the next day. A welcome dinner featuring the finest Nepali cuisine and a cultural program will be arranged at one of the renowned restaurants in Kathmandu, followed by an overnight stay in the city.
After breakfast, we will starts our journey with a scenic drive to Pokhara . This journey takes approximately 7-8 hours by bus, covering around 200km along the Kathmandu-Pokhara highway. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you'll check into your hotel and have the evening free to explore the lakeside area at your leisure. Overnight accommodation will be provided in Pokhara.
We will venturing further into the Annapurna region as you drive to Naya Pool and commence your trek to Tikhe Dhunga. The gentle ascent through lush forests and quaint villages provides a serene introduction to the trekking experience, allowing you to immerse yourself in the tranquil beauty of the Himalayan foothills. Arriving at Tikhe Dhunga, savor the warm hospitality of the local tea houses and relish a delicious meal amidst the mountains.
Today's journey continues as you trek from Tikhe Dhunga to Ghorepani, traversing through lush forests, terraced fields, and traditional villages. This leg of the trek, lasting approximately 6 to 7 hours, presents a more challenging terrain but rewards you with breathtaking panoramic vistas upon reaching Ghorepani, situated at an altitude of 2860m (9383ft).
As today dawns, you'll rise early for an unforgettable adventure to Poon Hill, renowned for its mesmerizing sunrise views over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After witnessing the awe-inspiring sunrise, you'll continue your trek to Tadapani, a charming village nestled amidst the mountains at an elevation of 2630m (8629ft). Today's trek offers diverse landscapes and ample opportunities for photography and exploration.
Today's trekking adventure takes you from Tadapani to Ghandruk, a picturesque Gurung village rich in culture and heritage. With a trek duration of approximately 3 to 4 hours, you'll have ample time to explore the village, interact with the locals, and soak in the serene ambiance of this mountainous paradise.
As today unfolds, you'll bid farewell to the tranquil surroundings of Ghandruk and trek back to Naya Pool, marking the end of your trekking adventure. From there, a scenic drive brings you back to Pokhara, where you can reflect on the memories made during your journey amidst the majestic Himalayas.
Finally, today, you'll embark on a picturesque journey back to Kathmandu, where you'll conclude your adventure filled with unforgettable experiences and a deeper appreciation for the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Nepal.
At last the trip comes to an end. We’ll drop you at the airport 3 hours prior to your flight. Hope the journey was fruitful and you’ve created the memories of a lifetime. We'll meet up when you return to this quaint, stunning, and wonder-filled nation. Farewell.
